Indaver and INEOS Styrolution project to produce ABS plastic from recycled feedstock
Indaver, an enterprise in sustainable waste material management, and INEOS Styrolution, global leader in styrenics, are fix to squad upwards equally technology partners in a projection funded by the EU LIFE plan, the European Marriage'southward funding musical instrument for the environment and resource efficiency. The project, which is planned for a elapsing of iv years, will demonstrate the production of ABS based on recycled feedstock.
The project, chosen "LIFE ABSolutely Round" aims at demonstrating the environmental and economical benefits of using advanced recycling technologies to close the loop of plastic recycling.
An initial key objective of the project is to demonstrate the product of ABS based on recycled feedstock taking advantage of advanced recycling technologies. The projection is likewise planned to demonstrate scaling of the solution from lab scale to demo plant and ultimately to commercialization.
The ABS copolymer is used in a wide range of applications in many industries, including automotive, healthcare, electronics, household, and toys/ sports/ leisure. The textile significantly contributes to societal well-existence with a well-balanced mix of properties. It is robust, dimensional stable, leightweight, and has an artful surface appearance. It is also compliant with food contact regulations and is easy to procedure.
Paul De Bruycker, main executive officer at Indaver, comments, "We are looking forwards to develop a demo found and an upscaling program to reach the objectives of this project. We are thrilled to work on a solution that allows u.s. to take advantage of the astonishing properties of styrenics while eliminating the impact on the environment and on time to come generations."
Dr Alexander Glück, president EMEA at INEOS Styrolution, "We are excited near this project as we believe at that place is intrinsic value in plastics products after usage. Nosotros share the vision with Indaver to turn plastic waste into valuable resources instead of letting information technology end up in landfills."
Over time, more information on the project and related results will be published on the project website www.absolutely-round.com.
